1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website operators.
2. Cookies We Use
MeasureBoard uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the Service to function. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies from third parties.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-next-auth.session-token | Authentication session - keeps you signed in | 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| __Secure-next-auth.csrf-token | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session | Strictly necessary |
| __Secure-next-auth.callback-url | Stores redirect URL during OAuth sign-in flow | Session | Strictly necessary |
| mb_invite | Stores invite code during signup (if invited) | 90 days | Strictly necessary |
3. Internal Analytics
MeasureBoard uses a first-party, self-hosted analytics system to track page views and usage events. This system stores data in our own database - no data is shared with third-party analytics providers. The data collected includes:
- Page URLs visited
- IP address (for unique visitor counting)
- Browser name and operating system
- Referrer URL
- Authenticated user ID (if signed in)
This data is used solely for internal product improvement and is not shared with any third party. It is retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
4. Third-Party Cookies
MeasureBoard does not set any third-party cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking services on our website.
When you sign in via Google OAuth, Google may set cookies on their own domain (google.com) during the authentication flow. These cookies are governed by Google's own privacy policy.
5. Managing Cookies
Since we use only strictly necessary cookies, disabling them may prevent the Service from functioning correctly (you would not be able to sign in or maintain your session).
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Block all cookies (this will prevent signing in)
